Terms and Conditions for The Garland

1. Age Requirements
You must be at least 21 years of age to make a booking of any accommodation at The Garland.

2. Deposit and Payment
A deposit of 15% on the total amount of your reservation is payable at the time of booking. The balance is due 28 days prior to your arrival.
Management reserves the right to cancel bookings if these payment terms are not met.

3. Changes to Bookings
Any changes to your booking must be made at least 28 days prior to your arrival date. We will try to assist where possible, but changes are not guaranteed.

4. Pets and Animals
No animals or pets are permitted on the premises.

5. Compliance with By-Laws and Manager's Directions
You must comply with the by-laws, rules, and regulations of the complex. Any reasonable direction from the Manager must also be followed. Failure to comply after a warning may result in immediate eviction from the premises.

6. Arrivals & Departures
Check-in is available from 2.00 pm. Check-out must be completed by 10.00 am. Requests for early or late check-ins may incur additional fees.
Late check-in arrangements can be made in advance by contacting the office.

7. Non-Smoking Policy
The Garland is a non-smoking building. Smoking, including e-cigarettes, is prohibited in the apartments, on balconies, and in or around the building. Evidence of smoking in apartments will incur a cleaning fee.
This policy is strictly enforced in accordance with Queensland laws (Smoking and Smoking Products Act 1998, Sec 26R).

8. Requirements upon Check-in
You will be required to provide a credit card imprint and valid photo ID upon check-in to cover incidental charges.
The person checking in must be at least 21 years of age.
Please note, all Visa and Mastercard credit payments will incur a surcharge.

9. Security Bond
A $1,000 security bond is required for the duration of your stay. Keys will not be issued until the bond, registration form, and full tariff payment have been processed.
You are responsible for any damage, breakages, or loss to the apartment or body corporate property during your stay.
The apartment must not be used for unlawful purposes, and guests must not exceed the number of beds provided.

10. Parking
Guests must park in the allocated car space. A visitors’ car park is available—please contact reception for allocation.

11. Mid-Week Service
A mid-week service is provided for bookings of 10 nights or more.

12. Bike and Surfboard Storage
Bikes and surfboards are not permitted in the apartments, foyer, or lifts. Bikes must be stored in the allocated car space, and surfboards can be stored in the secure surfboard cage on the ground level.

13. Schoolies Bookings
The Garland does not accept bookings for "Schoolies." We do not have the policies or resources to accommodate school leavers during the Schoolies period. We reserve the right to reject bookings from school or university leavers during this time.

14. No Party Policy
The Garland enforces a strict "No Party Policy." Functions, weddings, and private parties such as hens or bucks nights are not allowed. Any violation may result in fines and eviction.

15. Cancellation Policy

  • Bookings cancelled up to 28 days before arrival: The 15% deposit will be forfeited.
  • Cancellations within 28 days of arrival: The total price of the reservation will be charged.
  • In the case of a no-show without prior notice, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
    We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover any potential cancellation costs.

16. Cancellation Due to Unforeseen Events
The Garland reserves the right to cancel your booking due to unforeseen events such as natural disasters, extreme weather, national emergencies, or any other event affecting the property or complex. We will provide as much notice as reasonably practicable in such cases.
You waive any rights to claim against The Garland for a cancellation, except where such circumstances arise due to the fault or negligence of The Garland.

No, The Garland is a strictly non-smoking accommodation. Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is not permitted in apartments, on balconies, or in common areas. A cleaning fee applies for breaches.

Is there a security bond for apartment stays?
